BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes taking down an opponent in order to utilize ground fighting techniques and submission holds involving joint locks and chokes. The advantage of a larger, stronger opponent comes from superior reach and more powerful strikes, both of which are negated when grappling on the ground. A more precise way of describing this would be that on the ground, physical strength can be offset or enhanced by an experienced grappler who knows how to maximize force using mechanical strength.

GREAT PLAINS KETTLEBELL CLUB

Also referred to as "girevoy sport" or kettlebell sport, it involves the repetitive lifting of kettlebells (steel ball with a handle) in a given period of time. Kettlebell training is a powerful training tool when used for ballistic multi-joint movements. This is important to remember as any activity you do (baseball, soccer, volleyball, football, tennis) are all multi-joint movements. Kettlebell requires full body integration: cardiovascular, central nervous system, muscular, and core stabilization. This is club training and not a class. Participation in this club requires participants to attend a lifting seminar or one on one training with Kimberly Fox prior to attending club times. KIDS MARTIAL ARTS

What sets Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu apart from other martial arts is the focus on real-world performance. Your child is not going to learn to chop, kick the air, or break boards. They are going to learn realistic techniques for self defense just like adults in a fun, friendly environment. Ages 7-15.
Our Little Lutadores program is an introductory program for little kids to teach them coordination, tumbling, and basic movements of jiu-jitsu in preparation for the regular kids program. Ages 4-6.

CARDIO KICKBACK and

GROUP FITNESS

Our fitness program offers options for all elements of strength and conditioning. Cardio Kickback is our cardio kickboxing program. Along with bag work, there are kickboxing mitt drills and boot-camp style conditioning. Group Fitness is an equipment-based program incorporating elements from kettlebells, functional strength and circuit training. This program is designed to increase aerobic endurance and physical stamina. This is not your traditional cardio class. You will learn proper lifting form and mechanics for a muscle building, fat melting workout.

KICKBOXING

This class is taught by experienced instructors, allowing you a safe and engaging learning experience. It involves striking using punches, kicks, blocks, knees, elbows, clinching, and even takedowns or throws. This program will teach you the basic techniques of kickboxing. Once you have learned the techniques you will be able to apply them in applicable situational sparring. This class is great for self-defense when supplemented with BJJ training.
